About

Entrance of a building with glass doors, awnings above windows, and a poster on the side.

Since 1963, Aguilar Public Library has been an integral part of Aguilar Colorado, located in the NW county of Las Animas.

In 1969 the library found a new residence that was constructed out of a vacant two story brick building named the Morris Pitti Opera House, (early 1900s). The bricks from the 2nd story were dismantled, 50,000 total, then used for the construction of the library which then opened its doors a year later in 1970.
